"Lotus Yellow" Day - August 11, 2008

AUGUST 11th DECLARED LOTUS YELLOW DAY

Well, unofficially anyway. But LotusUserGroup.org is supporting it! A recent IBM press release announced that IBM Lotus Software outgrew Microsoft through robust sales of IBM Lotus Notes and Domino 8 in the second quarter of 2008. The fiscal quarter saw IBM Lotus winning millions of customer seats globally, but especially in emerging markets like Brazil, Russia, India and China. Plus, the quarter saw 2 of the largest deals in IBM Lotus history with companies in 2 markets, China and North America.

In response to the announcement, long time pillar of the IBM Lotus community and former Lotus employee, Alan Lopofsky, posted on his blog declaring August 11th a celebratory "Lotus Yellow Day."

Alan asked the guys at Lotus911 to create a logo for the day, and they jumped on the band wagon with their usual hyper-enthusiams for anything Lotus. Check out their annoucement of the event here.

Along with Alan, LotusUserGroup.org is encouraging people to wear yellow, post the Lotus Yellow Day logo on your site, and support the idea. Be sure to visit LotusUserGroup.org that day for all the "yellow" surprises.
