Client Management
Wednesday 16th, April 2008 Written By : Jess StrattonCategory : Client Management Location : LotusUserGroup.org Our LotusUserGroup.org group blog sponsor, panagenda, has released (for free) the panagenda MarvelClient Skinning Edition for IBM Lotus Notes 2.0. With this, you'll have the ability to skin your Notes client workspace (instructions are kindly given in the link!). Apparently there is a gallery of skins coming soon, and Florian has asked for your contributions if you make a good one. (actually, that's a lie. He asked for your contributions. I added the "if you make a good one" clause for the good of all mankind. ![]() Go get it! --> http://blog.panagenda.com/pub/panablog.nsf/D6Plinks/FLOR-7DRBHC Technorati: Client Management (2) Monday 26th, November 2007 Written By : Jess StrattonCategory : Client Management Location : LotusUserGroup.org Remember back in the July issue of the Developer Tips newsletter when I talked about a freak Replace Design incident? Here's something that happened to me just the other day. Client calls on a Monday morning. "We can't start any of our Domino servers." ... various troubleshooting techniques, leads to discovery of the following error: "Server document not found". Me: "OK, let's verify names.nsf exists. Go to the server, and open "nlnotes.exe". Client: "OK, I'm there." Me: "Now open 'names.nsf', it will either be via workspace icon, or do a File-->Database-->Open." Client: "Done. I'm at the Inbox." Me: "Uh.... I think I've found the problem." After a quick Replace Design with the correct template, we replicated, and they were off to the races again. This is a public service announcement. Apparently this happens more often than even I thought! Every so often, check the access levels of the Domino Directory. Make sure everyone that has Manager or Design access knows what the Domino Directory is for, and how to use it. Server document not found. That will get you up and running quickly on a Monday morning! Jess ![]() Technorati: None (0) Welcome! Jess Stratton is the principal consultant for Solace Consulting.
