We made it through another great conference.
This particular one had a great vibe, and great energy. The Ask-The-Experts table was crowded, everyone had questions. EVERYONE seems to be upgrading now that 8.0.1 is out, which is fantastic to see. The Admin2008 upgrade track was terrific and well-received. The repeat of my session "Giving Your Users the Complete Notes 8 Upgrade Experience" was to a packed room, and was a nice way to end the conference (though someone questioned why it wasn't part of the "official" upgrade track, probably because it was a late addition to the party.). Everyone had been attending highly technical server/client upgrade sessions that always seemed to include the phrase "send the upgrade email out to your users telling them that it's coming..." Well, my session covered how to cleverly craft that email (and all other communication) to make your upgrade as smooth as possible, and to ensure the best, fastest and smoothest response FROM the users. What was really neat to see was the reaction to the OGS keynote this year. Due to budget constraints and the economy in general, many people weren't able to get to Lotusphere this year, so this was the first time they really got to see everything in action. They loved it. For many people, it was their first time at Admin, and the technical content was higher than they expected - THEY loved it. As always, a great conference, and I'll see you all next year!
