Yesterday proved to be a great start to the conference. I attended Paul Mooney and Francie Whitlock's Troubleshooting Server Crashes and Decipering NSD files, which was a fantastic session on how to read that huge nasty NSD file.

It was followed by Andy Pedisich's Powerful Techniques for Analyzing Server Statistics, in which he gave us a fantastic custom statrep.nsf with built in views and capabilities to export those views to Excel.

The final cool thing in that session was when he showed us how to take your Excel columns, filled with valuable data for all your servers, and create a line chart in Excel.

That night brought Ask-The-Experts, and the great reception at the Solutions Showcase. Always a great time, filled with great networking. This is where I always ask people how their conference is going, and while I'm NEVER surprised at the answer, I always love hearing it anyway, including those that I podcast.

The usual response for first time attendees is, "this is a surprise.", "I was not expecting this", "this is such an amazing conference", etc. People who come to the conference for the first time are never really prepared for such excellent technical content of material that you can take home and use RIGHT AWAY.

I just got done with my session this morning, "Giving Your Users the Complete Notes 8 Upgrade Experience." The session feedback was great, users wanted more information on Smart Upgrade in detail, so I will be changing a little bit for the repeat.

If you attended the session and have questions, don't forget I am at Ask-The-Experts tonight!

As for the entire conference so far, two thumbs up.

As usual.

- Jess
