As usual, another great night of fun at Admin/Developer 2009 in Boston.
After a dinner in the Product Showcase reception party and Ask-The-Experts, Blackberry hosted a night of fun right across the hall in the grand ballroom. Debbie Lynd hosted a game show for us called "Last Geek Standing", in which six gurus and six attendees faced off against each other. Questions ranged from "What does LDAP stand for?" (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) and "What version of Notes created the Navigator, and then what version was it discontinued?" (R4.5, and R5). I think Chris Miller was the only one to get right on the guru side. The funny thing was, the questions were being Tweeted live and a rousing Twitter discussion was being created also (in addition to the funny answers being presented onstage, by both guru's and attendees alike!) I think the best answer had to be LDAP - "Lotus Dorks At Play". After various rowdy elimination rounds (in which even Debbie Lynd herself got a vote of elimination, don't ask), the remaining two geeks was one attendee (sorry I did not make out her name) and Rob Axelrod. The attendee won, and both her and Rob were given a voucher to pick out a Blackberry of their choice! A much needed and deserved night of laughing for everyone. Thanks to the View and Blackberry for putting on another great event!
